Dear Parents and Students,
Summer is almost over. It is really hard to believe how quickly it went. It seems like yesterday we were finishing up fourth grade. I hope that you had tons of fun.
Please make sure that you have all your supplies ready to go! The list is below.
Since we will have lockers next year, the rolling book bags do not fit in them. Keep that in mind when making that purchase. Students will not need locks, as we go on the honor system for fifth graders.
Once the students get back, please be ready for them to get right to work. We are going to be doing things differently this year. The one big change will be homework. We are going to ramp up things and make sure that we are staying on top of our learning. Please see the post on the 40 book challenge. Also, math homework will be happening almost nightly. It still shouldn’t take too long. Students will be very accountable for their work and getting it done on time. In the classroom things will be learning centered as usual, but with some elements of fun. I have been to some wonderful exciting trainings this summer that have given me some ideas to include the fun.
If you have any questions please feel free to email me, as my voicemail will not be available until school begins. Email is also the best method of reaching me during the school year.
I am looking forward to a wonderful year.
